Camporee

Join Pack 228 on a fun-filled day of activities celebrating 100 years of Scouting in America! In its biggest event ever, the Suffolk County Council of the BSA is holding a “camporee,” at nearby Southaven Park. For Cub Scouts, there will be archery, BB shooting, a monkey bridge, belt loops to work on, a bounce house, crafts, science, geocaching, a railroad center, and much more – all culminating in a laser light show in the evening! Tickets are $15 at the gate, but if you order your tickets through Pack 228 they are only $10 per person! We cannot accept any orders after Oct. 4, so please send your orders in today. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime event! Here's the full flyer (PDF). Here's the link to the council's Web site devoted to this event.

Pack picnic

Things are really coming together for the Pack picnic this Saturday, June 19. We're very fortunate that Nathan's has once again donated the food we'll be grilling up. We will be bringing back the ever-popular scavenger hunt. And we'll have lots of other fun activities, including raingutter regatta racing, Frisbee targets, rock painting, volcano making and relay racing, as led by our den leaders.

Things get started at 1:30pm, with our mandatory safety meeting. The activities and the scavenger hunt will take up much of the afternoon. Dinner will be followed by our Tiger crossing-over ceremony, and we'll close with den skits and songs. After the picnic, the campsite will be available to families who want to stay overnight.

The Pack is providing hamburgers, hot dogs and water - so families and dens should bring their own side dishes, desserts or other drinks. Note that this is officially a no-alcohol event.

Parents are responsible for their children at all times.

We look forward to seeing you there!

On Thursday, May 27, we will have a special guest at our Pack Night. Mr. Steve the Scientist will be there to educate and entertain the scouts. We encourage everyone to bring a friend and show them what Scouting is all about.

Cubs for Cubs

Last year our Pack had just a few attendees at Cubs for Cubs; this year we will have a booth and a number of families have committed to attending this great event.

Cubs for Cubs is a fun event that draws packs from all over the district. There will be a wide range of activities presented by the packs, including a rocket launch, raingutter regatta, frisbee targets, Pinewood Derby runoff, and more. Webelos get to camp overnight.

Remember to bring your Pinewood Derby cars if you placed in the top three in your rank at our Pack's Pinewood Derby.

Here is a link to the flyer and here is a link to the website for Baiting Hollow Scout Camp, where the event will be held.

See you there! (p.s. The Pack Calendar page has been updated with upcoming events)
