Camporee
Join Pack 228 on a fun-filled day of activities celebrating 100 years of Scouting in America! In its biggest event ever, the Suffolk County Council of the BSA is holding a “camporee,” at nearby Southaven Park. For Cub Scouts, there will be archery, BB shooting, a monkey bridge, belt loops to work on, a bounce house, crafts, science, geocaching, a railroad center, and much more – all culminating in a laser light show in the evening! Tickets are $15 at the gate, but if you order your tickets through Pack 228 they are only $10 per person! We cannot accept any orders after Oct. 4, so please send your orders in today. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime event! Here's the full flyer (PDF). Here's the link to the council's Web site devoted to this event.

Pack picnic
Things are really coming together for the Pack picnic this Saturday, June 19. We're very fortunate that Nathan's has once again donated the food we'll be grilling up. We will be bringing back the ever-popular scavenger hunt. And we'll have lots of other fun activities, including raingutter regatta racing, Frisbee targets, rock painting, volcano making and relay racing, as led by our den leaders.
Things get started at 1:30pm, with our mandatory safety meeting. The activities and the scavenger hunt will take up much of the afternoon. Dinner will be followed by our Tiger crossing-over ceremony, and we'll close with den skits and songs. After the picnic, the campsite will be available to families who want to stay overnight.
The Pack is providing hamburgers, hot dogs and water - so families and dens should bring their own side dishes, desserts or other drinks. Note that this is officially a no-alcohol event.
Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
We look forward to seeing you there!
